hello :)

Happy halfway through 2020! It’s been a wild ride, hasn’t it? Thought I’d say hi, give a fun life update, and check in with y’all.

Wow so much raw real life has happened since I last posted… if you follow the blog my sister and I run, probably none of this will be new lol but let’s launch into what I’ve been up to. πŸ˜€

2020 has definitely been a year of new beginnings for me, trying new things and humans I never foresaw coming into my life and really just seeing the days with present-in-the-moment eyes.

(There is no way my brain could handle trying to go chronologically so here is a random bundle of highlights. πŸ˜› )

Right off in January I signed up for the spring semester on the college campus where I work at the library. It was my best bro’s last semester before transferring and even though it got cut short thanks to Corona, we sure had a lot of fun together! All my classes were online and the professors were awesome.

The very same day that I signed up for classes a friend called and asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding!! ❀ They ended up getting married without all us there to celebrate because of quarantine, but we can’t wait to have the reception soon! Here are pictures from her bridal shower and our dress fittings.

(oh and obviously i got bangs sometime in February lol)

Our ‘new’ church has been awesome. Every sermon has been exactly what we needed to hear from God that day, and all worshiping together has been the best!! They really believe in serving the community and showing Christ to others, and it’s been so cool to help in those many opportunities.

I last-minute decided to go to camp with my Christian college club and it twas a total blast. Scripture packed sermons on Gospel Confidence, windy cold walks in the trees, deep discussion in small group, fantastic worship, the best cabin girls ever…

Valentine’s Day was special with fam and my club folks ❀

Walked around the park and chilled with my tribe. Best way to eat dinner and hang ever. A fave memory.

Then quarantine happened… I lost my job and campus/church/everything closed, but we still found great ways to stay connected.

My brother Paul and I bought bicycles, and it was super lovely exploring the nearby neighborhoods together!

We got a TON of sidewalk chalk and wrote/drew encouraging things to cheer up our neighbors’ walks!

Probably my absolute favorite thing from quarantine is all the sweet, chill family time we’ve gotten to spend together. ❀

Last weekend two of my older siblings and I drove north to join our oldest sister’s fam camping. The sky hits different while laying in the grass, hiking to a green meadow to eat breakfast is awesome, God decorates the country with the cutest little flowers. πŸ’›

So yeah! Despite quarantine not being the best thing ever :/ God has been just as awesome and faithful and trustworthy during that too as ever.

Tada! Hope you enjoyed my (long) snapshot of life so far this year. πŸ˜€

I’m not loving the 110 degree weather we’re already having, but summer promises to be pretty cool in the other sense of the word lol. Christian Challenge asked me to be a leader and we’re starting a super intense training course and outreach Bible studies this week. If y’all think of it prayers for that, the souls we hope to touch, and God’s guidance for the leadership team would be awesome.

NOW. Tell me how you all have been?

I’ve missed chatting with y’all in the comments here and, while I’m not planning to blog regularly again, I wanted to check in.

I've just been doing school, hanging out with my family, and spending lots of time outside!! πŸ˜‰ We also sold our house today (we moved within the past couple of months) and that was a HUGE answer to prayer!!!! ❀ ❀

    Have a blessed day! ❀

  5. great to see snapshots of what you’ve been up to. i like the sibling moments best, and your little β€œbook of me” was super creative. glad to see you thriving amid the wild ride.

the city pool just opened up in our neighborhood and alex’s family just finished theirs, so we’ve been evading the heat with one of his favorite thingsπŸ’¦
