Camp Exercises

In past years I have worked on my novel or short stories during the Camp NaNoWriMo months, but this time I decided to do something a little different and more relaxed. 🙂

The month before Camp sessions, the NaNo team (lol sounds like they’re super tiny) does picture prompts to get the writers of Instagram excited for Camp! I’m going to be using them as writing prompts this April! Each day I hope to write a paragraph or two, about whoever whenever wherever I want, that has to do with the day’s prompt. 🙂

This should be nice and easy to fit around school and something fun and different every day! Maybe I shall share some with you? They’ll be very rough and random, but I guess maybe I’ll post a few of my favorite “Camp Exercises” later on?

Right now I need to get back to writing since we have Perry and snacks. 😉

  6. I’m doing caaammmpp! Speaking of which for July I’m creating my own cabin and I would be WAAAYYYY honored if you and Kate would like to be in it! I have a couple few others also joining in like Olivia Rooney. Let me know if you want to.

      Aw wow thanks so much for thinking of me and that sounds like a ton of fun, but I don’t think I’ll be doing camp this July because we’re doing our homeschool convention again. Thank you TONS for inviting me though!!

      1. Wow I forgot about that I’m very sad. I’ll miss you!
        April went well enough. I was shooting for 63k but only got about 55k. Either way I’m super proud of how much I got done. I missed last year’s cabin tho. I’m almost done writing Playgrounds and Black Markers which I the sequel to last years book. It’s a little over 120k 😀

          1. Heyo Anna! It went well! I hosted my own cabin this year and it was full and fun and I interacted with a lot of Instagram friends too. I’ve been editing for Betas, and the last half of my debut goes out to them on Saturday *hides and tries not to panic*
            Missed doing it with you too girly!

    1. Aw cool! Thanks, Kassie! I might still post some tidbits even though April is almost over… 😉 I agree, writing prompts are great.

  8. I am doing Camp for the first time ever! I tried doing last November but I was thoroughly unprepared so I ended up stopping. This year I am better about keeping track of things lol 🙂

    My first camp nano year!
    But I’m structuring and outlining for it…
    So probably no writing sprints for me.

      1. Welllll… currently I’m sitting at about 20k with a 25k goal, so I’m going to have to write fast in the next 30ish hours! 😉

  14. Yep, I’m doing Camp. 🙂 I’m working on “By Paths Unknown” and so far it has been going really well!

  16. I’m doing Camp NaNo too! Actually, I’m in Kate’s cabin. 😉 We’re all having a blast. I’m writing a bunch of flash fiction from picture prompts and I’m loving it!! All the best to you!

      1. It went very well, thank you! I ended up writing a 39,800+ novella which isn’t yet finished and which I intend to tackle in July… xD So much for writing a bunch of flash fiction. It was supposed to be 1,000 words long. 😛
