Life In the Present Tense

Dear readers, I’ve written almost five posts over these last two weeks but didn’t like them and so you never saw them. πŸ˜€ I hope you enjoy the following quick update in this fun format!Β

Reading about:

Stargirl, a very remarkable thoughtful person

Roanoke, and an author’s time-travel fiction about it

The Limberlost, which sounds to me like the best place to wander on a cool evening

How it’s okay to wait on God’s timing to know what comes next

The ins and outs of algebra and how amazing Teaching Textbooks are, and Roman history

To see the stories around me again

Writing on:

My poor main character who is currently struggling with concussion symptoms, starvation, freezing, raw loneliness, bitterness, and a broken/fractured bone but I haven’t decided exactly what yet??? Aka the lowpoint.

An essay idea that I haven’t fully thought through yet, but that I think is titled “The United Selfishness of America”. XD πŸ˜₯

Life things, in my journal, when I feel like it πŸ™‚

Copy of still alive.png

Laughing at:

My hilarious and creative and adorable nephews, and our silly dog

The GenRising group’s antics at our recent meeting, and a crazy word game we played with a friend

Old chat messages ❀

What about you? ~Anna

And, oh yes, we must not forget algebra. *sigh* XD Yum…. french fries.
Your poor main character!! Your book sounds so interesting though!
Awwww!!! Both your nephews and dog are so cute! πŸ˜€

    1. Oh happiness!! Thanks tons, Liz!
I simply adored Girl of the Limberlost, though it did get dreadfully dramatic in the second half. πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜› My favorite is when she’s still just wandering around the Limberlost doing her cool, poor-girl things, ya know? You should try reading it!
      Ah yes… algebra. *shudders*
haha I knooow, I feel so bad for my MC right now! Thanks, I hope it really is interesting! πŸ˜€
Right??!! Just want to squeeze them all the days long! ❀

Ooo sorry about the seasonal allergies, girl! I have them too so I definitely understand how spring is a mixed blessing. πŸ˜‰ Stock up on kleenex and then go enjoy those new blooming daffodils!

AHHH you posted a snippie! A wonderful snippie! Me will save it and treasure it and store it and put it up on my wall and dream about what on earth your poor MC has done for you to torture it so. 😦 Teaching Textbooks are beautiful. ❀ And it's lovely to see your beautiful face agaaaaain! πŸ˜€ *grins broadly* It looks like we're learning a bit of the same, and whatever comes next in your life, I wish the best for you!

Oh wow you're the sweetest, Jo! 😊 I was honestly kinda scared to post it, so thanks for loving on it and being so excited. πŸ˜‰ Very encouraging!! lol Yeah… my poor MC… πŸ˜₯
Lovely to see YOUR beautiful face again! Serious. It's cool that we can be almost dying and then not and learn from it and come back stronger for it. Praying the same for you, Jo! ❀

      1. French fries are like friends: maybe they don’t realize how special they are, but people are always glad to find them in the end. πŸ™‚ Looky, I was just philosophical! 😢
Yeaaaahh no kidding your poor poor MC what did they do to deserve such torture??? *sniffs and sobs*
And yess. Everything you said. *hugs you* Same for you Anna!

        1. Oh my. I love it!! SO true, Jo!!
You is good at being philosophical. πŸ˜‰
Right?! That’s the tragic thing… she really didn’t do anything all that bad. πŸ˜₯ It’s just life that happens to her. (which is accurate, right. lol)

          Aw thanks! ❀

  4. My siblings and I laughed a lot last night while watching a basketball game. I thank the Lord for those two-hour moments we can have watching basketball together, especially because my brother is not usually around. ❀

  5. β€œThe United Selfishness of America” sounds like quite the topic.

I wish we’d used Teaching Textbooks. I’m actually seriously considering buying them now for myself as an adult to relearn some math. We used Saxon for grade school, some intense algebra and geometry (don’t remember the curriculum), and Bob Jones’ Consumer Math (I whined my way out of finishing geometry, not my proudest moment although I’m happy to have had Consumer Math).

The Limberlost does sound so lovely. I want to go to that part of Indiana (I think they are trying to restore it, it’s so sad that so much of it was destroyed despite Stratton-Porter’s work). Did you read Freckles (the precursor book? Have you read any of her other works. I’ve enjoyed The Keeper of the Bees and Harvester as well.
