A Randomish NaNoWriMo Update (that includes lots of fun things I’ve been doing other than writing) πŸ˜‰

I haven’t really had the time to write blog posts right now and y’all seemed to enjoy the style of my last NaNo update, so here’s another! πŸ˜‰

Saturday was packed so no writing that day!

We drove downtown to support Perry at a local author fair a library put together. It was super cool!! Except that I had zero money for books…

Talked with a fantasy/adventure author for a while about his epic looking books, and then we chatted about the theme of mine and where I’m at in the plot and the difficulties of figuring out what genre it falls under etc. It was really great!! So that counts as working on Eagledare, right? πŸ˜‰

Two in from the left is Kate and Paul in the back + me in the white sweater + that’s our sis in the red skirt

Then later that same day three of my older sibs and I and some of the Christian club went to their college’s last home game. WE WON!!!! We had a blast cheering especially loudly for the players Paul knows, including #42 in the pic! πŸ˜€ (likewhatonearthppl just look at that sunset!!!! 😍😍)

Day 4 was Sunday which I try not to write on, and church was cool with lots of singing in the foyer afterward with friends.

Monday I actually got some sprinting done with Paul in the morning before he went to classes!! The little girls made a collection of our loose change (literally going around the house calling “alms for the poor!” LOL) and bought writing snacks (candy corn pictured below πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚) and called a sibling writing party that night!

Yep, we’re crazy πŸ˜€

All together I wrote a good 1,200 words on Day 5 of NaNo which was a gigantic breakthrough for this writers-block-point in my story. And I think I’ve got myself rolling now… let’s hope I gain some momentum soon so I make my 18k goal!

Today so far I cleaned my room (like how my bedroom wall looks now?? It’s super inspiring me to write!!), did house chores, went with family to sit on a nice green lawn with my younger sisters while older people voted, and am now making dinner!!

Aaand somehow I published this post before it was done soooo, yeah, lol. 😁

What’s been up with y’all? Writing or procrastination or other life? (just being real here jk πŸ˜›) ~A

  1. AHHH IT’S MY FELLOW WRITER BEAN! HEYY!!! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ *excitedly jumps up and down and crashes a giant book pile to the floor in the process*
I have zero money for books either. 😦 But I did contact my library and I got Beautiful Blue World! And Orphan Island. And Wonder (See, I DID get to reading those lovely books you recommended! XD) So I am pumped about that. Miraculously, I somehow have read more books this month than I have in the last two months. And actually kept up my wordcount. *mindblown* With popcorn too. And chips. And unhealthy stuff I haven’t checked the calories on.
Also congrats y’all won! πŸ™‚ That’s super awesome. The last football game I went to, they lost. Hmph. And your sisters. *dies* ohhh maa word why did that never work for me?? πŸ˜›
Your bedroom wall is so pretty! I wish I had time to fix mine, but I mostly write on the couch (like right now, lol) And usually I write on mobile, because people keep trying to read my stuff! But I’m going to redecorate my wall. Soon. Like next month. For my birthday. After NaNo. πŸ˜› If I live.
Okay, the more I look at your wall, the more inspired I feel. *goes to look at it again*
Also my brother wants me to tell you he likes your sneakers. He has a thing for sneakers. Don’t ask! XD Hmph. He doesn’t do NaNo cause he’s studying for finals. And school. And that grownup thing. It doesn’t follow the constitution!!!

But this is a rant. And I shall stop. But it’s good to see you! πŸ˜€

    1. I absolutely love this comment, girl. and you know what happens when a comment is so so lovely and long and fun? It’s probably totally unreasonable… but i can’t figure out how to reply to it! *hides*
But know that it made my day. πŸ˜€
YAY for all the amazing books!!! ❀ So excited you got to read them! AND kept up your word count, you talented thing!
lol Writing snacks = the best. πŸ˜‰
Yo did you ever get to redecorate your wall?? if not DO SO!! It's the most inspiring pretty calming lovely organized thing ever!! And get yourself a string of fairy lights to hang above it all. It's sparkly, and I need to get me some. XD
Haha I'm way too obsessed with sneakers so that made me laugh that he noticed them. πŸ™‚ Tell your brother I say thanks!
Oh sadness. It's entirely too tragical when brothers have to do college. My brother didn't get to do NaNo either because of that horrid stuff. πŸ˜₯ (WOW so the first time i read that sentence i was like "doesn't follow the constitution, haha fun way to put it!" and then went "WAIT, constitution like OUR constitution?? like The Constitution of the United Writers of America?!!" LOL) Yeah, it's sad. 😦 Does your brother like to write? It's the best when writers have writer siblings… I feel sad for the ones who don't. πŸ˜› )

haha FUN rant!!! Thanks so much for this comment, Jo! ❀

That was probably the funnest thing I got to do- write during the day, read during the night. It was epic!
        *eats more French fries*
I DID AND IT LOOKS LOVELY right now we have a picture of my brother when he was small and stout and trying to walk, NaNo posters, and an awesome Bible verse! πŸ™‚ Fairy lights- awesome. Though my dad did wonder if I was trying to make it a disco.
XD Will do! He’s CRAZY over sneakers. Dunno why.
I know right? School. Pfft. (YES THAT CONSTITUTION I JUST MENTALLY ADDED “north” IN BETWEEN “of” and “America!” XD)
Yep! Though he those more graphic novel/script stuff.

That’s so cool! I have a certificate, but have been eyeing the neato posters for a while now. What years do you have?
lol Oh dear, I’m sensing a sibling difference of opinion on shoewear obsession? πŸ˜›
(Right??!! that was so fun … we were trying to convince all our friends, writers or not, to do NaNo at the time and so he came up with that– the most convincing, clear, pushy document ever possible. πŸ˜€ I re-earthed it again for this year’s NaNo to try to get him to do it. πŸ˜› )
              HAHA Truth. *grins*

(IT WAS SO PERFECT I LOVE IT! *goes to read it again because that was so perfect*)

                1. So cool!!!
Combat boots FOREVER, girl!!! ❀ ❀ I live in a really warm state so I literally wear sneakers during the summer/fall/spring and combat boots as long as possible during the winter! Mine are so beat up, but I shall go on wearing them until the day I die!!
(LOL yay!! love it!! XD )
