What’s Up Recently… birthday, glow-in-the-dark stars, and cool things like that

So I’m supposed to do a blog post today, but so much has happened how do I sum up? Time for another update on all the things going on with Anna recently. ๐Ÿ˜€

Typed some of my handwritten short story “Confidential” into its doc and maybe spent some extra time finishing off that scene. ๐Ÿ˜›

Babysat my rowdy gang of nephews multiple times, and had the funniest conversations with them! โค

Started a new blog with my sister… it’s about lifestyle and living frugally.

Pearl and I have been making multiple vlogs and blog posts for it. “brought to you by sleepless nights and hours of pjs” lol

Listened to my younger sisters argue over whether or not a fictional character has a cleft chin or if only the other fictional character does.

I might have spent almost an entire day fangirling over a fellow blogger’s art and deciding what illustrations I need from her for Eagledare… someday in the future.

audio dramas when too tired to get out of bed ๐Ÿ™‚ praise the Lord this hasn’t been often recently

Am learning how to live with a chronic autoimmune illness. ๐Ÿ˜€ *fist pump*

Found a bunch of neato new blogs and have been enjoying “stalking” them. Especially the heart-felt poetry on this one.

I decided to join a cool blog party thingy called “Five Fall Favorites” that will be happening October 1-6… I should start thinking about what my posts will be.

Invitation 2018

I’m doing school. Still. Just doing more each day. Wow.

Stuffed a big envelope full of letters and drawings and got it sent off to a soldier friend. So happy it arrived safely!

Celebrated 100 blog followers!!! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

I started the sequel to the middle-grade sci-fiย Under Their Skin and so far it’s fascinating! (update: FINISHED! wow. wow. wow.)

Read the first five or so chapters of Eagledare aloud to my forever-fans (aka younger siblings) one night… let’s just say we stayed up waaay too late.

Read the first two chapters to my older sister the next morning. The words sounded immensely less cool in daylight. ๐Ÿ˜›

I’m fighting the urge to trash the first chapter completely…

the wall by my bed, almost all the way to the ceiling

Taped up a bunch of random story notes that I keep losing to the wall by my bed.

Filmed a blog tag as a video again… you’ll see it someday. XD

Helped plan, looked forward to, and had a blast at a big night-time laser tag war with my birthday buddy.

Am loving these desert storms!!

I’ve been writing in my journal a lot. Which is happy… because when times are tough or anxious or uncertain I DO NOT journal for some reason… and it’s all of those at times. So yay for actually journaling!

Deep cleaned my room, like,ย deep cleaned it.

Found out that glow-in-the-dark stars are the best.

I enjoyed exclaiming over the full moon with my ppl and then getting to watch it, fading in and out from behind the deep black/navy blue clouds, all the way home.

I was treated to Chickfila for my birthday by my sweet daddy. โค

Had plenty of amusing bad hair days that looked amazing by the time it was bedtime. *grumpy face* It’s called “putting your hair up in a bun, sweating because it’s just sooo warm out, and thus accidentally curling your hair”. *grins*

I had all my younger sisters for a sleepover while my room-mate-older-sisters were gone working the elections. We had a fun “talking time”. ๐Ÿ˜›

Told people about my free audio story The Patriot’s Song!!!

milk chocolate โค

Slowly nibbled away at the special, gluten-free/soy-free chocolate that my really cool siblings gave me.

Shared the end of an ice cream carton with my bro during a tv episode, and we ended up taking turns pouring the last bit of the melted goodness into our mouths. #desperate #funtimes

And I went to my first football game with my older sibs at their college! Now that was aย blast.ย My dear bro took me, and Kate came too. ๐Ÿ™‚

Threads of Blueย by Suzanne LaFleur

I read an entire book the morning after my birthday… Kate and Paul are EXTRA cool for buying me this amAZing sequel to Beautiful Blue World!! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

I somehow made room on the shelf for, like, 5 new books. *swoon*

Kate and I are in the middle of reading the sequel to a comic book duology together! So fun!

Also, I had the privilege of attending the wedding of two of the most sweetest people in the world this weekend! My brother was a handsome groomsman, the couple and their families are friends of ours,ย we decorated the getaway car during a marvelous thunderstorm, then sang random songs on the front porch after dark, and even pulled out some accents and… wigs??!! So good catching up with friends… and being goons together… ๐Ÿ˜›

So so much more has happened that it’s hard to remember it all; God has blessed me so much these past few weeks!

There were plenty of tough times and anxious happenings, but I chose to focus on this good stuff because then that’s the stuff that will stick in my memory, right? lol And really, overall, it’s been a great few weeks y’all. ๐Ÿ™‚

What’s been up with you?

    1. Aw thanks, Rebekah! ๐Ÿ˜Š So glad you enjoyed reading this!! It was definitely very fun to put together the post and just slow down and see all the blessings God has brought my way in the middle of this crazy hard thing called life!
Haha I shall work on them soon… It’s just so hard to choose only 5 books for each category ya know?! ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜‚
Thanks so much for the birthday wishes, dear! And you can totally pretend it’s today. ๐Ÿ˜‰

      1. I know the trouble of picking 5 books. I’m having a terrible time! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I pick 5 and then I remember another book. Out goes an old, and in goes the new. And then . . . ๐Ÿ˜› Well, let’s just say I’ll stop when I get my posts up. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    1. Gaaaahhh *speaks to self* “Am I really truly that selfish of an artist that I don’t want to share her with others??” *decides I shall not be*
My dear Julia, this special artist of whom I speak goes by the name of The Sarcastic Elf! ๐Ÿ˜€ (And I think that’s her blog name too)
You are going to absolutely adore her art work!! She does so many different styles and is amazing at many different art mediums than just pencil!!

  3. Hi Anna! Sounds like you’ve had an amazing couple weeks. Can you believe it’s already September? It’s insane.
Just wanted to say that you’re in my prayers. My mom had a chronic autoimmune illness that caused severe anxiety and she wasn’t able to get out of bed for daysat a time, but God worked all things together for good and after about two years of trying different things she finally found what was causing it and she’s on the road to recovery. She healed herself from an incurable disease and now she’s helping so many other people get better. I hope the same thing happens to you. If you want more information of what my mom had and did, feel free to email me. Otherwise I’ll just keep praying for you. ๐Ÿ˜€ :* โค

  4. Great post! I’m so sorry you have to deal with an chronic autoimmune disease. You make me ashamed. I’m healthy, and compared to what I’ve seen of you, I’m nowhere as cheerful. You’re a blessing in my life, Anna, and a ray of sunshine. Thank you so much for doing this blog!
What an amazing time you’ve had! Aren’t little siblings the best fans? XD

    1. Aw this comment made my day!! You’re a dear, Amie! And I’m very humbled that you think I do this well… it’s tough and sometimes I’m just like “this is NOT cool!” but I definitely try to trust God that this is what’s best and be cheerful, so thanks tons. โค
Oh yes!! Siblings make fantastic lil faithful fans!! ๐Ÿ˜Š

  5. That sounds great, Anna! Happy belated birthday! *sends you new book* You got to read more books, how cool is that!
Man, you have an autoimmune illness? That must be hard. And you still pull off everything you do! *wishes for a double portion of your spirit*
Audio dramas! *cheers* Like Adventures In Odyssey?!? Theyโ€™re awesome!!!
Aahhh thou shalt not delete your first chapter! Otherwise, Iโ€™ll delete mine, then I wonโ€™t have a book, and no excuse to talk books with you all at a homeschool convention someday soon. So no deleting. Besides, Eagledare is amazing.
I should probably stop ranting now, but one last thing: Yay for Chikfila! ๐Ÿ˜€ so good to hear from ya! And looking forward to the blog party!

    1. Thanks so much Jo!! Eeek haha I love how you know to ‘give’ me a BOOK as a gift!!! Lol ๐Ÿ˜œ I shall cherish it for all the days and it will grow worn and wrinkled with all the re-reading!! ๐Ÿ˜‰
Aw you’re sweet. I’m just realizing how I dropped that as a causal bomb in the post by accident. ๐Ÿ™ˆ I promise I’ll explain more about it, sorry! You’re a dear tho. โค
Ooh yes, I’ve listened to some of the old Adventures In Oddessy and I especially like the imagination station ones!! I love it when they travel back in time!!
Bwahaha okay okay, no story deleting!!! As long as you don’t either… because yep we have to be able to talk about them at the convention someday. ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘
Haha Agreed! Chick-fil-A fans forever!! (Yo I just had this spectacular idea… A book club at a Chick-fil-A. Like WHUT??!! Two best things TOGETHER!! *faints*)
Happy happy you enjoyed my randomish update post! And glad you’re excited for the party, I am too!! What’s better than talking BOOKS for a week straight??!! *laughs hysterically* lol Don’t mind me… I’m tired. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ™ˆ
      Thanks for commenting, Jo!!

      1. As a fellow storynerd, the best thing you can give a storynerd is a book, amirite? ๐Ÿ˜‰
And donโ€™t feel pressured to explain anything! Youโ€™re fine! Praying for ya and that you crush that illness. ๐Ÿคœ
Yes to the convention, and yasss to the Chikfila book club idea! Thatโ€™s plain brilliant!
Oh, nothingโ€™s better than talking about books for a week than doing it with fooood. XD donโ€™t mind me, Iโ€™m insane. *nods*

        1. YES YES!! You are SO right!! Books forever and ever! *faints* (random thought, but I’ve never actually fainted… come pretty close to it but not quite. Have you?)
Aw thanks for the prayers. ๐Ÿ˜Šโค
Whaaat?!!! why did you have to mention food??!! Now I’m seriously gonna be gorging all week during the Five Fall Favorites party and jes be like “Jo said so”. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Hehe

          1. (Nope, never. For some reason I can’t faint *sniffles* that would be fun if only to write about it later on XD)
            You’re welcome! ๐Ÿ™‚
And of course you have to have food when you talk books. Remember what C.S. Lewis said? “You can never find a book large enough or a cup of tea wide enough to suit me.” Or something like that. ๐Ÿ˜›

    1. IT SOOO WAS!!! We dressed up all in dark tactical clothes (which was funny because my hair was still all curled and in a fancy updo from going out with Dad, so I had Bobby pins falling out the whole time and that seemed to crack the boys up *shrugs* ) and it was epic!! Lol I was standing there with my rifle all lined up with my team and one of the moms was like “you look dangerous!” It was so so fun. We had like 40 ppl there or something. Tons of ice cream too!!! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ™Š

Yay!! Super enjoy Malachi’s blog! The way he does it just waay creative. ๐Ÿ™‚
