Happy Independence Day!

We secretly dressed up colonial times and paraded out to show the rest of the fam…

…you can imagine the reactions XD

crazy fun coming up with all the costumes just from our closets! XD
aaand don’t worry, we’re all just normal, goofy siblings… not rebels or tories xD

Drove to fireworks in the area, which were fantastic! Paul and I had the best view of all the people! πŸ˜‰ And I mean that not just about being able to see the fireworks perfectly… I did a lot of people watching too. πŸ˜€ Maybe I’ll post some of my brain-stories?

We finished off the day with some of our own fireworks at home!

After an amazing looong show from this single firework…

*aerial fireworks suddenly start shooting out of our sparkler*

*shrieks and cheers*

Mom to Dad: “Did you know it did that?”

Dad: “Nope!”

Twas an exciting day of apple pie, dress up, patriotic songs, and fireworks! What did y’all do to celebrate this country’s precious, hard-won independence? ~A

  1. Omgoodness! That’s so cute! πŸ˜‚ You guys did such a good job dressing up! I recognize you and Kate, are the other two older girls your other non-author siblings? I think that’s so cute!!! I love your outfit Anna. XD
Aww! That’s sweet! We got to watch a firework show yestarday at a speedway that’s visable from our community park with some of our church friends. That’s such a cool firework you guys got!
We went to our church picnic and got to witness a bunch of people get baptized and share some good food with friends and run the snow cone booth and then after the part was over me, my two sisters, and two of my girls friends and guy friend sort of took over the bounce house our church rented and tried not to kill the thing well jumping. XD
After cleaning up everything we came home and had dinner and had my cousins and grandparents overnight. We rode all over our community on bikes and watched people set of their fireworks and when it got very dark we set off ours. But my dad does NOT like flying fireworks so we don’t get any of those.
Now I was sitting for the last hour and trying to get my word count in and now I’m going to bed because I’m so tired, but my cousins and aunts are still here. XD
Goodnight. Thanks for sharing about your 4th of July! πŸ˜€

Yay for fireworks!!! I just love how you guys ride around to watch everyone’s! We got to see quite a few different fireworks as we drove to get a good spot to watch the big show.

  2. That looks like a lot of fun! We went to church and watched the fireworks afterward. Normally we do a huge cookout and have lot’s of friends over but the 4th landed on Wednesday.

Oh yeah, it falling in the middle of the week was kinda weird, wasn’t it? But also really neato to have my dad off of work in the middle of the week!

  3. Looks like fun Anna! I read books all day until our grandparents arrived. We set some fireworks off too. After everyone left, we finished watching the movie Gettysburg we had started the day before.

lol Thanks, Hannah! It was a random idea I had (all our celebration plans got cancelled so I wanted to rally the sibs to do something fun) and marched into the room with “Well girls, I think it’s about time we take matters into our own hands. Let’s be spies for General Washington!” lol It was a blast! πŸ˜‰ You should definitely do it next year. πŸ™‚
